100 Series Fifth Wheel

Each trolley in the 100 Series system contains a fifth wheel (mounted above the drive wheels). This wheel is used to lift the drive wheels off of the drive tube during lane merges, drive breaks, and those instances where a trolley needs to be stopped without stopping the drive tube

Limit switches are used in conjunction with fifth wheel operations in order to detect the presence of a trolley at a particular station.
